  • Afghan Mosque - The site of a ‘camel camp’ where Afghan and Indian camelers used to load and unload their teams.
  • Daydream Mine - Take an underground tour of this mine which dates back to 1882.
  • Delprates Mine - This is the original BHP mine which features guided underground tours.
  • Geocentre - Provides the opportunity to learn about geology and metallurgy through interactive displays.
  • Hazelvale Emu Farm - Guided tours available as well as opportunities to co-drive a rally car around a 6km course. A unique farming experience.
  • Railway, Mineral and Train Museum - A display of railway memorabilia, engines and carriages as well as a special display of minerals.
  • White Rocks Reserve - Relive World War 1. This Reserve is the scene of a shootout during World War 1. A walking track leads around the reserve and information boards outline the story in detail.
  • White’s Mineral Art and Mining Museum - Features a walk-in mine, a large doll display, as well as various mining equipment.
  • Arts and Crafts - There are a number of outstanding art galleries in Broken Hill including Absalom’s Gallery, Broken Hill City Art Gallery, D’Art De Main Gallery, Heritage Art Gallery, The Old Shed Studio, Pro Hart Gallery, Thankakali Aboriginal Corporation and the Wimpatja Wana Aboriginal Crafts Centre.
  • Lookouts and Picnic Spots - There are also a number of great lookouts and picnic spots in and around Broken Hill. For example, Block 10 Lookout, Joe Keenan Lookout, Junction Mine and Lookout, The Living Desert (picnic area), Riddiford Arboretum, Stephens Creek Reservoir and Twin Lakes.

  • Mootwingee National Park - Located 130 kilometres north-east of Broken Hill, the area is rich in the heritage of the Wilyakali and Barkindji people. It contains magnificent natural galleries of their paintings and engravings and is a great place for picnics and bushwalking.
